I very much enjoyed Christopher Paolini's "To Sleep in a Sea of Stars." Any scifi space adventure immediately has my attention, especially one with a cover as beautiful as this one, but Paolini's novel is more than that. It's futuristic and existential and beautiful. The characters are well-rounded, the world-building is superb, and the story unfolds in a thrilling way.

Reading the author's note at the end of the book, I had no idea how long this book had taken the author to write; that said, as many pages as the novel is, it makes sense that it was an epic project. Just helps readers understand the love, blood, sweat and tears that go into our favorite pieces of pop culture.

Before you start, know that this book is LONG, but consider it a trilogy for which you only have to buy it once -- or wait on hold at the library once -- rather than three times. Great work by Paolini!
