Space operas are my jam and this was epic on levels only a “hi I’m back” author with something to prove can stun you with. This book is the action packed adventure I would sign up for in a heartbeat. All the elements have been well researched but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. It follows main character Kira, a xenobiologist, and her crew as they come across an ancient alien relic during a normal mission. All these characters are so well written, it is astounding. But that’s pretty much what this author does. Everything is written on such a high standard with amazing details. If you were a fan of this authors previous work, you will recognize that storytelling ability he possesses, which just makes this book that much better. I cannot wait for the next book!
