Intense science fiction journey

So this is my first science fiction book, I was intrigued by the title and the book summary. In no way was I daunted by the page count, I’ve done twice this before! This story definitely kept me interested and wanting to know what was going to happen next. It took a bit to figure out all of the characters, but once I did it was a really enjoyable story. This storyline definitely didn’t go where I thought it was going to go, but I wasn’t disappointed. The story arc of the characters really seemed to fit to their individual personalities so I was quite happy with that. The writing was easy for a science fiction novice like me to understand but I don’t think it was too simplistic either. There’s an interesting part at the end of the book after the story is over that goes into all of the science behind his writing that I think avid science fiction readers will appreciate. I might not exclusively read science fiction now but I was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed this book!
