Christopher Paolini is one of my all time favorite fantasy authors, so I was pretty excited to see that he had written a sci-fi, which is another one of genres that I usually enjoy reading. To Sleep in a Sea of Stars is 856 pages long so she’s a thick one for sure. I’m usually a huge fan of long books, but those long books I read are typically fantasy and I wasn’t sure how I was going to do with a super long sci-fi. It’s the thickest sci-fi I’ve ever read and will probably continue to hold that title. I did thoroughly enjoy it but I found myself distracted easily because at one point it just felt like it was dragging on and on and on. Which more than likely had nothing to do with the book itself and all on me and not being the worlds biggest fan of sci-fi, I can’t fault the book or author for that.

The world building was absolutely amazing, which I’d expect nothing less from this author in particular. As a whole though I did absolutely enjoy the book but I’m not sure if I’ll go on to read the next book in the series.
