This preview was brilliant! It is a beautifully written sci-fi story that follows Kira, a xenobiologist cataloging life on the alien planet of Adra.
On their final day on the planet, Kira is sent out to check on a downed drone. What seemed like a routine check (a waste of time) takes a turn when Kira stumbles across an odd rock formation. It is unlike anything they have encountered on this planet before. As she tries to acquire some samples, the ledge she is on breaks and she falls into a cavern beneath that turns out to be a room. There is evidence that an alien civilization was there before them. Kira allows her curiosity to get the best of her and disturbs a basin of dust in the chamber with catastrophic consequences.
I cannot wait to see what happens next!
