To Sleep in a Sea of Stars follows Kira, who finds an “object”, setting in play a galactic battle, a journey to outer space and a fight for humanity.
I almost don’t know what to say, the journey and the lengths this book went was intergalactic! I was scared to read an adult sci-fi, because it looked so smart, but I understood everything that was going on and was enjoying myself thoroughly throughout the whole book. It has so many themes and parts of it, and the conclusion was very satisfying. The author called this a love letter to the genre, and I see it so clearly. It has found family, an adorable f/f side romance and just awesome space battle and space journeys! I honestly didn’t know how this was going to be, but I have been a big fan of Paolini since The Inheritance Cycle and I’m here to stay for whatever he decides to write next. It had a lot of heart and all kinds of moments that made the story come together in a beautiful arc. 4.5/5 stars.
