I've made it very clear over the years that the world needs more space opera books, and that the sci-fi genre is very underrated among the bookish community. From what few chapters I was able to read in the the first impression, To Sleep in a Sea of Stars is exactly the kind of book I will love! I'm already impressed and intrigued by the worldbuilding, and the synopsis has me totally hooked. I really like Kira so far as a character and look forward to reading the whole book!
