Not going to get sucked into another Paolini book

I read “Eragon” when it first came out and absolutely loved it. Couldn’t wait for the next two books of the Inheritance trilogy to come out...then the trilogy turned into a four-book series called a “cycle” and the original story kept dragging on and on. I felt like the author and his publisher were trying to milk as much as they could out of the series to make more money. The second book “Eldest” was great, but I didn’t even finish the third one. I don’t even remember the name of it - just that it had a gold dragon on the cover and was promptly donated to the Goodwill. By the time the last book finally came out, I was completely over the “cycle” and don’t even know how the story ended. I learned my lesson way back then and will not read any more books from this author!
