Ok, so I love science fiction. I love science fiction with a strong female protagonist. This... is not that. It was very quickly apparent, and maybe it gets better later, I don't know. I gave up on this preview, though, after she was very obviously doing everything for and/ or because of this man. Not that love can't be a motivation. I very often love when it is. But don't undercut this character that you seemed at first to be setting up as strong to be so... not timid or subservient, certainly... but... just every action she's taking is because it's what he wants. And she wants it only because he wants it. Not what I want to read.
