This excerpt promises great things to come. The world building sucks you in, letting you feel like you are really there. After reading and enjoying the Inheritance series, I was super happy to see that Christopher Paolini had written a new book, and an adult sci-fi one at that. This story takes place in the stars at some point in the far future. The main characters live in a scientific research dome on an alien world thought to be devoid of life other than the most basic organisms. Right before the crew is set to depart, something strange is found and upon discovery, one of them falls into the anomaly and is trapped. This first read makes me want more. I can’t wait.
