I'm trying to read more science fiction, since this isn't a genre I usually read. This book however did pull me in. The main character Kira is a xenobiologist who is exploring an uncolonized planet, which you know is just going to spell trouble and is going to turn out to have life forms of it's own. She ends up finding an alien relic and wants to discover the truth about the alien civilization is belonged to.
Kira seems like an interesting character to me. I'm always down for female led books. This book is told in third person point of view, which I find to be better when the author is a male.
Plus side note, how gorgeous is that cover! I also really like the title of this book.
