The Eragon books have long been a favorite in our household, and I was delighted to see that Christopher Paolini, now all grown up, is writing sci fi for adults. I was taken aback at first, thinking the first chapter read more like a romance novel, but then quickly took on the tenor of a good science fiction story. It ratcheted up the excitement level, and you can tell even in the early chapters that the worldbuilding skills Paolini showed in the Eragon series have not deserted him. I look forward to reading the rest of the book!
