While I do think the concept for this book is interesting, and that the cover and title pages are beautiful, I just can't get over how bland the writing style is. I didn't really get a good feel for any of the characters, but so far, I don't think I like the main character, Kira, much. Perhaps it's the lack of subtlety in the writing, but I think that there definitely needs to be more "showing not telling" in the writing.
