I was a bit hesitant to read this as science fiction is not my genre of choice, but the cover is so beautiful I couldn't resist giving it a try. There is a lot of science jargon and I found myself skipping over some paragraph that contained descriptions of things that I couldn't picture. When the action and conflict started, Kira arriving on the island, I got very interested and will definitely be reading the rest when the book comes out!
