Not so much a whodunit as a who knows about it ...

I quite enjoyed Tiffany Blues. The book tells the story of a young woman (Jenny Bell) who has had a rough unbringing but also has excellent artistic abilities. The author takes us through her life as a young woman who is attending art school with a good upper-class friend. They soon are accepted into a fellowship at the Tiffany Estate, where they are able to compete for an annual life-changing prize. We get to experience flashbacks into Jenny's young life, where she lives with a loving mother, a spiritual aunt and an abusive step-father. All the while realizing that the past that she has tried to keep hidden for so long is pushing to come to light.

The book contains it all: suspense, romance, likable and unlikable characters, a good plot and some surprises along the way.
