This is the first book I have read that was written by M.J. Rose, but I am hoping it will not be my last. As a huge fan of historical fiction, I was quite taken with this novel and the story of Jenny Bell. The book offers readers a little bit of everything; art, history, mystery, and romance. The writing was beautiful and I felt as though I was living during this wonderful time. The description of the characters allowed me to feel as though I really knew them and it allowed me to connect more to the story. This is a must read for every historical fiction fan, but I also feel any reader would love what M.J. Rose offers us in this amazing book. I didn't want the book to end and I am looking forward to future books by this author.
