Tiffany Blues perfectly captures the world of a young female artist, Jenny, in the 1920s New York. The research behind the story is impeccable and the descriptive prose sets a beautiful, reflective setting. Louis Comfort Tiffany's art and his world are fascinating, and the reader sees it all through the eyes of this 24-year-old artist who comes into that world with fresh eyes. The backstory of Jenny already has the reader intrigued. She is poor but her colleague takes her into the opulence of the rich. The references here are so interesting - the famous Student Art League of NYC, the grand parks of the city designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted, the poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, the names of so many great visual artists that Jenny wants to emulate. Such a fascinating world!
