The Author’s Note alone is fascinating! I’m intrigued by how the author uses the history of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s home (of the famous Tiffany & Co.) on Long Island’s coast—Laurelton Hall—as a solid foundation for this story. In the rest of the first-look, the prologue and opening three chapters, it is made evident that the author is a lover of art. Her descriptions are point-on, and create vivid visuals of the art colony and the 1920s backdrop. I want to learn more about Jenny Bell (the main character) and the mystery of Laurelton Hall’s demise.
