The first thing that grabs you and draws you in is the cover of the book. It's almost like a beautiful painting! Then, for me, the subject matter. While by no means a professional artist, I love to draw and paint, but mostly I do stained glass. The medium is fun because you take sheets of colored glass, which are pretty just for their color, and turn them into beautiful colorful suncatchers, mosaics or wind chimes or so many different things! The colors the light creates are magical!
The descriptions the author gives in the book are very vivid, and I can "see" what the author is describing. It's so well written and I just love the characters...and love the timeframe it's written in! I actually pouted when I reached the end of the first look! I would love to win this book!
