First of all, that cover is stunning. The writing style is lyrical and intellectual. The First Look has left me with a lot of questions. How does Jenny end up at the camp? What becomes of her working with Ben at the paper? Is Ben a possible love interest? She talks about falling in love at the beginning, but is it with someone else? Is the Reverend possibly after her? Is is believable that he might find her in the age before computers? Especially when they lived in Canada?
This character seems to be hiding from more than her past. There was a lot of beautiful writing in these first few chapters, but the line that stuck out the most to me was in the description of Laurelton Hall as ,“Where I found my heart's desire and my palette's power.” Beautiful.
