This is a ya fantasy set in a futuristic society with a magic system based on mythology in which our main character and her two sisters are descended from the three fates. The true highlight of this book is the magic system. While greek myth retellings have been popping up frequently in recent years, Threads that Bind takes a more unique approach by granting characters powers based on which gods they are descended from in a whole new setting rather than simply retelling the original myths.
I also really loved the soul mate subplot in this book. Because our main character is a descendant of the fates, she can see the threads of fate that tie people together and can see how she is tied to her love interest in the book. Not only is the concept behind the threads fantastic, the execution is also very well done.
I am dying to get my hands on the sequel and find out what happens next!
