Wow…just wow! I was hooked from the first page with the rich descriptive characters, world, and story telling. The book pulls you in on the first few pages describing a poor elderly lady that has her life thread cut and it gives you a view into the world and the people that live in it. The idea of threads that connect us to all things that are only visible to few is so intriguing. Newborns have less threads and adults have an average of 15, connected to anything from gambling to a soul mate. What is really cool is that the threads shine brighter towards the things you love the most (so if you loved gambling more than your soulmate…uh oh!)
I can’t wait to find out what happens to Io, who seemingly is an empath that wears her heart on her sleeve. I can’t wait to see how her love thread plays out later on in the story. I will absolutely be preordering this book as soon as I’m done writing this!
