Threads that Bind was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. This young adult greek mythology book ended up falling short for me. I normally love greek mythology books but didn't love the authors writing style. Overall it was still enjoyable but the plot and characters just felt off. This book is about a world where powers of the gods are inherited. It follows the descendant of the fates. She has to solve murders in order to save her soulmate and her family. Taking greek mythology and solving murders in a YA book is a super unique twist I hadn't seen before. But as the mystery gets unravelled it felt a bit unfulfilling and I didn't like the ending. This will have a second book though and I am excited for that to see if it gets better. I didn't really like the soulmate or sisters either, but I liked the fate magic and other greek mythology aspects.
