I really enjoyed the first few chapters that were made available as a First Look and was looking forward to reading the full book, which was graciously provided by the publisher through Bookish First. However, once I received the book and started reading, I found my attention wandering. I still liked the concept, our main character, Io, and the mystery of cut life-threads making living wraiths. But, I couldn't stay focused on the story. That could be because I am a mood reader and this book wasn't matching my current mood. Or the combination of stressors in my life made it hard to read for longer lengths of time (I didn't finish reading many books in May in general honestly).
What I'm saying is that you should definitely give this book a chance. I will try again in a month or two and see if I can finish, but I don't want to force it right now and resent the book because I "had" to.
