This story is a wonderfully unique young adult fantasy novel, which is great because that's so rare to find these days in such a crowded genre.

Greek mythology certainly isn't an uncommon concept for writers to explore, particularly in this genre, but this author did an amazing job of handling it. The magic system was unique--I've never seen it done this way before. (As an aside, I also love that the author is Greek herself--I think it made the story all the more unique.)

I thought all of the characters in this book were fully fleshed out and complex. Io and her sisters were such interesting characters to read about.

In terms of the plot, it took me a bit of time to really sink into the mystery; but once I did, I was immediately hooked! I loved all the twists and turns this story had to offer--they were all well done in my opinion, and I loved that the author used the story as a means for commentary on society.

I can't wait for the next book!
