Threads That Bind is an exciting new take on Greek mythology. In this world, the gods are dead, but their descendants live on. If your ancestor is a sibling god, then you stand a chance at inheriting their powers. Our main character is a descendant of the Fates, who monitor the threads of life and love. She's a detective, and gets hired to discover who is behind the strange murders in town. But throw in her fated love, an estranged sister, magic powers, and a secret plot, and life for her suddenly gets a lot more complicated.
I loved the descriptions of the powers in this book, and the focus on some less popular gods (since the ancestors have to have been in a pack of siblings, like twin gods, it rules out some of the big players). While this book mainly focuses on Greek mythology, the descendants of other realm's gods do appear.
I thought this was an exciting read, action-packed, and emotionally investing. Will definitely pick up the sequel.
