This first look really starts off strong. I thoroughly enjoyed the lyrical, fairy tale-esque story telling that starts the novel off. I found my attention captured from page one. Just judging by the cover (which I'm not a fan of at all), I really didn't think this book would speak to me, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think the premise of this novel is awesome and that the book really has the potential to be great.
I can see this book appealing to YA fantasy readers, as well as fans of fairy tale re-tellings and Greek mythology. This novel seems to have all of that, and at least in the beginning, it's executed really well.
I'd absolutely read more to find out Io's ...fate... and to watch the threads of the mystery... unwind.
