I really liked the first few chapters of the book, it looks like the magic will be based on a variety of Mediterranean or Slavic mythological creatures, which should be interesting. The mystery is set up effectively - what's with the fate-thread? what's happening with the murders? I'm intrigued by the sister relationships as well and hope that's explored further. The cover is really great, eye-catching, lovely stylized art, evocative of the story.
