I really enjoyed this first impression! The setting is a different world, although there are hints that this might be a dystopian type world? Some people are descended from different gods and have abilities specifically related to their ancestor.
The author does a good job at painting a picture of what is going on and adding in enough mystery right from the beginning that it draws you in immediately.
I wasn't a huge fan of the cover, but I do understand it after reading this first impression! I am looking forward to finishing this story!
