In a dying world, two time traveling soldiers are sent through time to fight for the war of the Gardens vs the Agency by altering events important to their sides cause. What begins as letters left like Easter eggs to taunt each other blossoms into a friendship that could rip apart all the work each side has achieved against the other.

While this novel was poetic and beautifully written, it missed on a couple points for me.
1. Lack of world building- I’m all for cutting to the chase but this one left way too much unanswered about the futuristic world it was trying to build. It eludes to many different times and places through history, some real and some made up, without any background information. This leaves me having trouble picturing when/where we are located in the story. Not to mention, It only vaguely graces who/what our characters are and why/how our characters are traveling through time.
2. Too weird for me- Perhaps this stems from the lack of world building but there was so much left unanswered that just made this entire book way too strange for me.

Beautiful writing but I’m just left with one reaction... “what did i just read?”
