A perfect tale of enemies to lovers, this novella follows two star-crossed (and space-crossed, and time-crossed) lovers whose home planets are at odds in a massive war to control the future of various interwoven timelines. They leave messages for each other everywhere from turn of the century cafes to post-apocalyptic wastelands as they hide their love from powers that would see them destroyed for it.

Co-written by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone, How to Lose the Time War is a unique and engaging reading experience. Told through the letters, puzzles, and clues they leave as they hunt each other across time and space, it is innovative, creative, and often heartbreaking as these two assassins try to figure out how they can love each other and still live. As one might expect from any time travel story, there are plenty of satisfying twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end.
