Not My Favorite Sci-Fi Novella
First of all, I will say that this audiobook is beautifully narrated, and the narrators added a lot of depth to the characters. Hearing the different narrators helped me distinguish between Red and Blue in a way that I don't think I could have from reading. I highly recommend the audiobook if you do pick up this novella. It's short, well-narrated, and worth a listen.
I read a lot of sci-fi and speculative novellas. Like, a whole lot. They are my favorite genre. This one had beautiful writing and interesting characters, but it wasn't my favorite. I couldn't connect with the characters or with the world in the way I wanted. I do think this is a great read for those just now dipping their toes in the genre and format, as it's extremely accessible and features a romance sub-plot.
I would absolutely read more from these authors, but this book just wasn't what I hoped it would be.
