This book, it's just...I read it months ago and I still swoon when I think about it. Brilliantly written sci-fi that is intriguing and funny and tense and romantic, and in so few pages. The wit and mysterious conflict hooked me right away and never let up.
The world is presented with very little exposition, in a series of brief vignettes showcasing the characters' creatively "written" communications with each other throughout time. Their cheeky snark that develops into admitted respect, curiosity, and beyond is a joy to read.
"Your mission objective is another castle" is one of my new favorite lines from anything, just in general, and I think it exemplifies the efficiency of the writing at giving you information on character and setting.
Definitely want to reread this one.
