Like I said in the title, I am greatly confused, but I could not be more excited. The book opens were a character named Red. Red is clearly on a mission and has learned to fight and detach herself from the situations she faces- or at least she thinks she does. Red is a fighter, a warrior, but she notes that she is addicted to emotion. When she finds a letter that is supposed to be burned, not read, especially by her- her emotions get the better of her.

The synopsis allows us to know we will soon be introduced to Blue, another main character. Though Red and Blue are seemingly similar, both fighting for their own future and past, we learn they are on opposing sides. What starts as a way to taunt one another, soon begins a trail of letter writing connecting them to humanity that they had worked so hard to distance themselves from.

The writing was beautiful. Just descriptive enough where I was dying to keep reading, but not so descriptive that I thought the authors were trying too hard.

This novel is written by two beloved SciFi writers, and it shows. Cannot wait o read the rest!
