Enthralling Sci-Fi Love Affair

This is How You Lose the Time War is an enthralling love story set in an unusual science fiction setting. Instead of Romeo and Juliet, or better yet Winston and Julia from 1984, we have Red and Blue. Red and Blue are agents on different sides of the Time War. Red comes from a dystopian world full of minds living in pods, futuristic weapons and a Commandant that sees all through implanted technologies. Blue comes from Garden, more of an organic us that uses a long game to destroy the enemy. When Blue and Red glimpse each other on a battlefield, an unusual correspondence begins to take place. Correspondence that could either be a trap or a call in the lonely lives each character leads. I still have questions even after finishing this novel. Is this a loop in time? Was this love fated before either knew? How far would you go for love?

Overall, a read that drew me in during the first chapter and kept me rooting for Blue and Red against the odds. If you enjoy correspondence romance, sci-fi war or star-crossed loves, then This is How You Lose the Time War is for you.
