After reading this excerpt, I wanted more! The author draws the reader in by giving them only hint at what is happening. What we do learn is told through the character of Red, who seems sympathetic yet ruthless and completely intriguing. When the excerpt ended, a character named Blue had just reassembled a letter that had been reduced to ash. I will leave you to think about that...
