You are really mean to hook me with only 6 pages!!! The first lines drew me into the narrative so completely and the lyrical prose flows effortlessly. Literally I knew on the first page that I need to read this full book at the earliest moment. And it is a shame that I almost didn't give this one a chance because the cover didn't appeal to me - it looks more like literary fiction than a science fiction story to me. But I am really glad I saw this book, it is now on my to-read list!

"She’s come to knot this strand of history and sear it until it melts."

I'm a sucker for time travel stories: I can't get enough of them. And This Is How You Lose the Time War seems to pack quite a punch with high stakes, political machinations, and good old fashioned murder. It's like Red works in the time travel equivalent of wetworks... which considering the second sentence talks to her hair being coated in blood seems an appropriate analogy.

I can tell this is a rich world with a lot going on, and I know very little right now but am eager for more.
