This book seems super far outside my comfort zone, but I'll admit that the setup introduced in this excerpt is intriguing. There seems like there will be a lot of world building in this story, and if the authors continue as they began, it seems like a story that might be understandable and engaging even for non-speculative fiction readers such as myself!
