Curious but on the Fence

There are aspects of this book that are really intriguing to me - the historical fiction aspect, the time traveling, etc. - but there are other bits that make me a bit more hesitant about whether or not I'd actually truly enjoy the whole thing - the sci-fi aspect, time traveling (it's not always a good thing - it can be done well, and it can be done poorly!). Mixed feelings about this one but the premise sounds really original.
