In a genre that is too often stale and repetitious, this work by Amal el-Mohtar and Max Gladstone has crafted beautiful, tragic, and irresistible language that had me hooked from the first sentence. The cover catches the eye and makes the reader want to jump right into the pages. I hope I win this contest!
