Immediately interesting, and beautifully written from the jump. I wanted to chase down all of the threads of the individual characters mentioned and it was easy to develop an emotional attachment to the main character. The pacing make things move fast, even as the prose itself is very emotional which can sometimes lend to a slower book. Not this one! It balances plot and introspection very well. The basic premise is wonderful and yet still leaves me wondering where it will lead. The character and her interactions feel real, and the dialogue flows without feeling uncomfortable to the reader. The book would be best enjoyed by YA and New Adult readers with an interest in coming-of-age stories that are not just heartfelt and easy, but messy and complicated. Readers who want to ache and love the characters they read about, and reflect on the story as it applies to their own experiences will love this one.
