I think it's really important that authors in this day and age are not afraid to dive into harsh and dark topics, because unfortunately today, our country is dark, harsh, and scary. However, I don't know if this one was done in a manner which showed the horrors of drinking, instead of over idolizing it, as even the blurb says one of our characters finds 'courage' at the bottle of a liquor bottle. As adults, we understand the true effects of drinking and how it truly affects our minds and decision making, so for young adults which ranges from 12-18, those ranging from 12-15 could be easily swayed to follow suit in the actions of some of the characters.
The cover of this book has amazing potential, however it doesn't show the true plot of the book. I think adding on more cups in the background or a bit of contrasting colors in the background would really make it pop.
