As a middle school teacher, I read a LOT of YA fiction. This excerpt made me want to keep reading! I was a challenging teenager and I could see a lot of my behaviors and attitude in this main character. The always wanting to be seen and the line, "...you have an audience to please" really hit home with me. I WOULD LOVE to finish this book and have some older students who would love to read this too! I want to see what happens to this main character, I am fully invested in what happens to them.
