The opening scene of the story captured my attention instantly. I wasn't feeling sorry for the main character, but I was eager to know what Big Bad Bee would do next. Although I didn't feel any sympathy for the kid, I could empathize with her because the story felt like it was straight out of the 1980s when books were full of booze and movies were all about drinking binges. It's intriguing, I'd like to know how it continues.
