I read an eARC of this book via NetGalley. This story follows Ross Quest, part of the infamous thieving Quest family, as she participates in the Thieves' Gambit, a high stakes thieving competition that challenges her abilities and the story that she has always told herself about her place in the world. I think that the audience this is written for will enjoy it. I'd hand it to readers who loved Ally Carter's Gallagher Girls but have aged up a bit. This wasn't a book that I wanted to keep turning the pages of, even though it is heavily plot based. I think I had a hard time picking this one up because I didn't fully invest in any of the characters. There are also a lot of heist story tropes that show up--which will be fun if they are the first time you are encountering them but were predictable for those who have seen them several times before. However, this definitely makes it a great read to hand to teenage readers, especially the 8th-10th grade readers who are often hard to find books for.
