This book read like a movie (so I completely understand why the film rights were bought before the book even hit shelves). It's perfect for a movie with the action and fast pace and intensity. The setting incorporates numerous continents, and the character are diverse.


The book fights right in as a young adult thriller. I've heard it compared to Ocean's Eleven but it reminded me a bit of the Inheritance Games. I'm a sucker for the competition YA trope and this book did it so well.

I loved the female main character, Ross. From the beginning she had motivations that felt realistic to a young adult trying to find her place in the world while also navigating the complexities of family dynamics. Her character developed accordingly throughout the book, in a way that I found incredibly enjoyable. I loved how strong she was
