Without prior knowledge of the book, I would likely walk past THIEVES’ GAMBIT in a store as I don’t like the cover. It’s too intensely red and I’m not crazy about the font. The synopsis is interesting as I do enjoy heist stories. After reading the sample First Impression, I’m not sure if I’ll like the book overall. The beginning wasn’t strong for me to feel pulled in right away. Maybe this one will just take a while longer for me to really feel invested. I’d give this one a try through the library but it’s not a book I’d go out and buy without reading first.
