This feels like it's going to be a very quintessential young adult action story - a teen girl struggling between pleasing her mother and pursuing what she wants in life thrown into a game of life and death with other quirky characters. The style and the character conflicts definitely seem fitting for the intended audience, but it's not appealing as much to me.
