“Thieves’ Gambit” by Kayvion Lewis. Genre: YA Thriller. Time: Present.

Rosalyn Quest (Ross) is 17. She’s also a master escape plan thief. Her weapon of choice is a innocent looking but deadly meteor bracelet that wraps around her wrist. (Think Ocean’s Eleven for teens). She lives on the remote Bahamian island of Andros with her mom and aunt. And she wants out- it’s time to meet other people her age. Unfortunately, a belowdecks yacht heist goes badly wrong, and Ross is forced to enter the illegal Thieves’ Gambit contest to save her mom. (Think Inheritance Games for thieves).

It’s going to be an action-packed, cut-throat, no-holds-bared competition! Ross is spunky, clever, trained in thievery, conditioned to trust no one but her family. But she’s only 17 and doesn’t have much experience working with others. Her competition have their own unique strengths and weaknesses. It’s going to be a wild race to the finish with an unforgettable character.
