”This is how to make sense of the chaos.”

They Wish They Were Us is a mix of YA fiction, romance, and mystery. I agree with the comparisons to Pretty Little Liars and One of Us is Lying; however, those books have characters with actual layers, and this one just has paper cutouts of snobby, rich teens.

Much of this story follows the death surrounding our narrator’s best friend. To capture a reader, the author should probably give some insight into said friendship to care about her demise, right? I’d like to note that the deceased teen’s friends acted way too nonchalant about her death considering she was murdered.

This story was far-fetched and a bit silly. I truly don’t even remember how it ended, but I know that I really wasn’t a fan and wouldn’t exactly call this a brilliant work of literature, sorry!
